Ultrasonic soldering can play a major role in
enabling the electronics (and other) industries to meet requirements
for increased solderability of leads and the reduction in the use of
CFC solvents.
In an ultrasonic solder bath ultrasonic energy is introduced into the
molten solder by means of an "Energy Horn" or "acoustic probe" which
passes through the side or bottom of the solder bath and is immersed in
the solder.
