High Frequency Induction Heating is now very widely adopted in
engineering wherever controlled heating is required; in brazing,
soldering, hardening, annealing, tempering and similar operations. With
extensive experience to draw on Solbraze is able to give invaluable
information on the design of workcoils and inductors, on modifying the
design of components or assemblies to facilitate use of the process and
on jigs and handling mechanisms.
The basic principle of Induction Heating is that heat is generated in
the work due to the fact that the lines of flux surrounding the
workcoil cut into the surface of the work and induce circulating
currents. Only those parts of the work lying in the magnetic field will
become heated, thus allowing localised areasof work to be heated
selectively, and hence processes to be successfully carried out that
could not be achieved by any other method.
