The Solbraze range of Resistance Handtools (Thermotools) use the
principle of electrode resistance heating. Electric current at low safe
voltage is passed through the area to be heated when contacted by the
electrodes.
Thermotools are fitted with carbon, graphite or copper coated carbon
electrodes and the low voltage supply required is produced from the
mains by means of transformer units called Thermopaks.
The advantages of Thermotools are that they give fast localised heating
and are suitable for soft solder and silver brazing applications. Heat
is rapidly available in remote and difficult access areas without the
risk of damage by fire to the surrounding area. Operating costs are low
because power is only used when making a joint. Thermotools are widely
used in the production and repair of electrical motors and
transformers, wiring harnesses, battery leads, busbar connections and
an infinite number of other manufacturing operations.
Solbraze has a fully equipped laboratory containing its full product
range for sample testing and evaluation. Please visit us, or send
samples of your products for a free of charge assessment to determine
the optimum manufacturing process and equipment requirements. |
