Where output requirements demand the use of semi-automatic dipping systems, Solbraze Ltd manufacture a wide range of rotary indexing SolDip and linear AutoDip machines, complete with fluxing, heating and dip soldering.

The need to tin component leads and edge connectors, as well as for making soldered joints on assemblies, has resulted in the demand for equipment to dip tin items accurately and quickly.  It is for this reason that Solbraze Ltd has designed the AutoDip range of equipment.

The equipment is supplied as either bench mounted, or as a floor standing machine with cupboard for componets (as shown above).  The components are loaded on to the jigs held in a tray.  The loaded tray is then placed in the carrier, that runs on a track.  This carrier is then driven along the machine, stopping at the fluxing station(s) and soldering station(s) (two flux and soldering stations are used if de-golding).  The machine can also be fitted with pre-heaters if required. 

The fluxing station(s) include a weir and peristaltic pump (from a reservoir bottle in the cupboard).  This ensures that the flux level is always constant.  The flux station is supplied with a cover to reduce the loss due to evaporation when the machine is not in use.

The soldering stations are electrically heated solder baths of the same design type as the other Solbraze solder baths.  These baths offer amazing reliability along with accurate designs, and are fully compatible with the lead free solders as well as leaded solders.  The solder baths have automatic solder wiping operations that remove the dross immediately prior to dipping, to ensure a clean and consistent soldering operation.

The soldering stations are kept filled with the use of the Solbraze wire feed unit, this ensures that the height level remains constant and the soldered joint remains consistent.  The temperature controls ensure the heat of the solder pot is held to within 2°C.

The AutoDip models are controlled by PLC to allow the operator to select exactly the level of dipping and speed that is required,  This makes the soldering compliant with all international standards for soldering (including military soldering) and it is an ideal machine for use where volumes of tinned components are high, or operator intervention required is minimal.
