It has been established that the most effective way for a company to brand wooden pallets with the required Forestry Commission logo and Timcom number (which is now necessary in EU and China) is to brand with a hot iron. It has been proven extensively that other methods are not only more expensive, but also not as effective. The hot iron technique involves precision engraving a logo on to a block, that is heated electrically by a large wattage iron. This hot brand is then applied by hand (can also be mounted in a press) directly on to the wood and therefore requires no additional resources.
